SimpleSwap Review

Fixed and floating rates, non-custodial by default

of 10

SimpleSwap states it uses no classical percentage fee, instead offering a market-analysed rate, and provides both a 20-minute fixed rate and a floating rate. It requires no account, triggers KYC only on flagged transactions, and auto-refunds compliance holds.

Pros

  • Fixed rate locks for 20 minutes; floating rate uses the market rate at processing
  • No account needed and no funds kept on the platform
  • KYC only if a transaction is flagged as suspicious
  • Compliance-triggered holds are automatically sent back to the refund address
  • Aggregates 20+ CEX and DEX providers across 2,800+ cryptocurrencies

Cons

  • No percentage fee is published — the margin is inside the offered rate
  • The operating entity is not named on the pages read
  • Broad aggregation means the effective rate depends on third-party providers

Custody and KYC, stated well

SimpleSwap states you do not need to create an account or keep funds on the platform, and that KYC only happens if its system or a partner's flags a transaction as suspicious. When a compliance check is triggered, the funds are automatically sent back to the refund address. That is a clear, user-favourable statement of exactly when identity checks apply and what happens to held funds — the strongest part of the entry.

Two rate options

A fixed-rate exchange locks the rate for 20 minutes; a floating rate uses the market rate available when the swap is processed. Both are documented.

The fee is not a number

SimpleSwap states plainly that it does not use a classical percentage, offering instead a rate based on market analysis. That is honest about the model but leaves the margin unquantified, which is why the fee score is low. The operating entity is not named either.

The company behind it

SimpleSwap discloses no company name at all: its terms give only a business address in George Town, Cayman Islands, with no named operating entity and no founders. For a non-custodial swap service, an address without an identifiable company is thin disclosure, and it is the main caveat to weigh against the service's convenience.
